Love the idea of the gateway company! I think there's this misconception that if you don't work for "FAANG" (MAANG? MAMAA?) there's this 'moat' and then there's just "everyone else."
That's not true at all. A cool, recognizable company that's generally liked by its users goes a LONG way in impressing people on a resume. A couple of these = gold.
Whether that's fair or not, I still think it's amazing advice to take your 'gateway company' strategy just as seriously as your FAANG/MAANG/MAMMA-MIA strategy.
